Who Am I

A 2014 German psychological thriller directed by Baran bo Odar. The film follows young hacker Benjamin Engel (Tom Schilling), who feels invisible in society but gains confidence in the virtual world. He meets a talented hacker, Max (Elyas M’Barek), who invites him to join his team, CLAY (Clowns Laughing At You), a group of hackers aiming to gain fame through provocative cyberattacks. Alongside Max and his friends Stephan (Wotan Wilke Möhring) and Paul (Antoine Monot Jr.), they carry out daring hacks, mocking the system. However, their activities attract the attention of both law enforcement and the Russian cyber-mafia, linked to a mysterious hacker known as MRX. Benjamin finds himself entangled in a dangerous game where virtual anonymity might cost him his life. Trying to survive, he collaborates with police investigator Hanne Lindberg (Trine Dyrholm), but can he outsmart everyone and remain undetected? The film immerses the audience in the world of hackers and illusions, questioning what reality is and who we truly are.
