A Bronx Tale

A 1993 American coming-of-age crime drama film marking the directorial debut of Robert De Niro, based on the eponymous play by Chazz Palminteri. The story follows Calogero Anello (portrayed by Francis Capra as a child and Lillo Brancato as a teenager), an Italian-American boy living in the Bronx, New York, during the 1960s. The stakes are further heightened when Calogero falls in love with Jane (Taral Hicks), an African-American girl, intensifying the existing ethnic conflicts in the Bronx. The film delves deeply into themes of family, loyalty, betrayal, and the consequences of choices faced by a young man under social and criminal pressures. The cast also includes Kathrine Narducci (Rosina, Calogero's mother), Clem Caserta (Jimmy "Whispers"), and Joe Pesci (Carmine).
