Amsterdam

The 2022 American mystery comedy thriller film, produced, written, and directed by David O. Russell, follows three friends—doctor Burt Berendsen (Christian Bale), lawyer Harold Woodman (John David Washington), and nurse Valerie Vandenberg (Margot Robbie)—who meet during World War I. After the war, they live together in Amsterdam, enjoying a carefree life, but eventually part ways. Fifteen years later, in 1933, Burt and Harold become entangled in a conspiracy after being framed for the murder of Senator Bill Meekins' daughter. In an effort to clear their names, they reunite with Valerie and uncover a political plot known as the "Business Plot," aiming to overthrow President Franklin D. Roosevelt and establish a fascist regime in the United States. The film is based on true events and showcases behind-the-scenes intrigues, friendship, and the fight for justice.
