Bird Box Barcelona

The 2023 Spanish post-apocalyptic thriller "Bird Box Barcelona" is a spin-off of the 2018 film "Bird Box." The story unfolds in a devastated Barcelona, where survivors must hide from mysterious entities whose mere presence drives people to suicide. The protagonist, Sebastián (Mario Casas), struggles to survive with his daughter, Anna (Alejandra Howard), in a world where even opening one's eyes can be fatal. Sebastián joins a group of survivors, including Clara (Georgina Campbell), Dr. Laura (Lola Dueñas), and Rafa (Patrick Criado), who, despite their fear and distrust, attempt to stay together. However, it soon becomes clear that Sebastián harbors a dark secret that could endanger everyone around him. As the story progresses, his true mission and his connection to the so-called "seers"—individuals who not only survive seeing the entities but also revere them as divine messengers—are revealed. The film expands the "Bird Box" universe, delving into themes of faith, guilt, and survival while offering an alternative perspective on the catastrophe that has decimated humanity.
