28 Years Later: The Bone Temple

A horror film by Nia DaCosta from a screenplay by Alex Garland; Hildur Guðnadóttir composed the score. Alfie Williams, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jack O'Connell and Emma Laird take the parts. This is the second instalment of the new trilogy, with the release set for 2026. The line began with 28 Days Later in 2002, directed by Danny Boyle from a screenplay by the same Garland. There a virus escaped from a laboratory and turned the infected within weeks into creatures driven by rage alone, and Britain was cut off from the rest of the world by quarantine. The sequel 28 Weeks Later appeared in 2007, after which the series was silent for nearly two decades. The new trilogy opened with 28 Years Later in 2025 and moved the action a generation forward: people have grown up on the islands who never knew the earlier life, and the quarantine has become the arrangement of the world rather than a temporary measure. The Bone Temple continues that story.
