A 2026 survival horror film directed by Sam Raimi from a screenplay by Mark Swift and Damian Shannon. Two employees of the same company end up the only survivors of a plane crash on an uninhabited island. What follows is the thing the story was built for: the subordinate gains a power over her superior that she never held in the old office hierarchy, and the island cancels at a stroke everything that hierarchy rested on. The construction joins the enclosed space a survival story requires with an inverted chain of command as the source of tension. Bringing the workplace thriller together with horror continues the director's line, in which threat is revealed through the tightness of a place and a small number of people. Rachel McAdams and Dylan O'Brien take the leading parts, with Chris Pang, Dennis Haysbert, Xavier Samuel and Tanet Warakulnukroh alongside them. For Raimi this is a return to the genre his career began in: his lineage goes back to The Evil Dead of 1981, which started the series of that name, and takes in the first Spider-Man trilogy and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. His manner is usually described through the joining of the horrifying and the comic, a mobile camera and a marked inventiveness of technique. Raimi Productions made the film, and the score is by Danny Elfman, who also wrote the music for the director's Spider-Man pictures. The release dates are 29 and 30 January 2026.
