A 2015 drama film based on Emma Donoghue’s novel of the same name. The story follows a woman named Joy (Brie Larson) and her five-year-old son Jack (Jacob Tremblay), who have been confined in a tiny room for years. For Jack, this space is the only world he knows, while his mother does everything she can to create a sense of normalcy for him. However, they eventually plan a daring escape, and Jack experiences the outside world for the first time—a place both wondrous and terrifying.
