The Book of Eli​

A 2009 American post-apocalyptic action film directed by the Hughes brothers, set in a future where a nuclear catastrophe has turned America into a scorched wasteland. The protagonist, Eli (Denzel Washington), wanders through the desolate lands carrying the last remaining Bible, believing it holds the key to humanity's salvation. Eli arrives in a town controlled by the tyrant Carnegie (Gary Oldman), who seeks to obtain the Bible to consolidate his power. Carnegie orders his adopted daughter Solara (Mila Kunis) to extract information about the book from Eli. However, impressed by Eli's faith and determination, Solara decides to assist him in his mission. Together, they confront Carnegie's gang, overcoming numerous dangers to deliver the Bible to a place where its contents can aid in the rebirth of civilization.
