Star Wars. Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

A 2005 science fiction film directed by George Lucas, serving as the final installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. The story takes place during the final stage of the Clone Wars, as the Republic fights against the Separatists. Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen), tormented by the fear of losing Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman) and influenced by Chancellor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid), succumbs to the Dark Side of the Force, becoming Darth Vader. Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and Yoda (Frank Oz) are among the few surviving Jedi after Order 66, which leads to the mass extermination of the Jedi Order. In a climactic duel on the volcanic planet Mustafar, Obi-Wan defeats Anakin, leaving him for dead, but Palpatine rescues him and completes his transformation into Darth Vader. The Republic is replaced by the Galactic Empire, and Palpatine declares himself Emperor, establishing Sith rule.
