Star Wars: Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

A 1983 science fiction film directed by Richard Marquand, the final installment of the original Star Wars trilogy. The Empire is constructing a new Death Star, while Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), Princess Leia (Carrie Fisher), and Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) set out to rescue Han Solo (Harrison Ford) from the clutches of crime lord Jabba the Hutt. After a daring escape, Luke returns to Dagobah, where the dying Yoda (Frank Oz) confirms that Darth Vader (David Prowse, voiced by James Earl Jones) is indeed his father. The Rebels unite to destroy the new battle station, which orbits the forest moon of Endor, where they receive help from the Ewoks. Meanwhile, Luke surrenders to Vader and meets Emperor Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid), who attempts to turn him to the Dark Side. In a climactic duel with Vader, Luke refuses to kill his father, and Vader, redeeming himself, destroys Palpatine but is mortally wounded. As he dies, he reveals his true face to Luke as Anakin Skywalker. Meanwhile, the Rebels obliterate the Death Star, securing victory over the Empire. Luke cremates his father’s body, and the spirits of Yoda, Obi-Wan, and Anakin watch over the celebration.
