Star Wars. Episode II: Attack of the Clones

A 2002 science fiction film directed by George Lucas, the second installment of the Star Wars prequel trilogy. Set ten years after the events of "The Phantom Menace," the Galactic Republic is on the brink of war with the Separatists, led by Count Dooku (Christopher Lee). Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen) is assigned to protect Senator Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman), and a romance blossoms between them. Meanwhile, Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) uncovers the creation of a massive clone army for the Republic and learns of a Sith conspiracy. In a decisive battle on Geonosis, the clone army fights against the Separatist droid forces, marking the beginning of the Clone Wars. In the finale, Anakin loses his arm in a duel with Count Dooku, and Palpatine (Ian McDiarmid) gains emergency powers, further consolidating his control.
