BlacKkKlansman

The 2018 American biographical crime comedy-drama directed by Spike Lee is based on Ron Stallworth's 2014 memoir "Black Klansman." Set in the 1970s in Colorado Springs, the story follows Ron Stallworth (John David Washington), the first African-American detective in the local police department. Eager to prove himself, he initiates a risky operation to infiltrate the local Ku Klux Klan chapter. Communicating via phone, he establishes contact with Klan members, while his white Jewish colleague, Flip Zimmerman (Adam Driver), impersonates him in face-to-face meetings. Together, they uncover the organization's plans and thwart potential acts of violence. The film blends satire with serious drama, addressing themes of racism, identity, and social justice. The cast also includes Laura Harrier as activist Patrice Dumas and Topher Grace as Klan leader David Duke. The film received critical acclaim, won the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival, and earned six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, winning for Best Adapted Screenplay.​
