Jon Favreau directed this 2011 American science fiction Western, adapting Scott Mitchell Rosenberg's 2006 graphic novel of the same name. Set in 1873 Arizona, the story follows a mysterious stranger (Daniel Craig) who awakens with no memory and a strange metal shackle on his wrist. As alien invaders begin attacking the town of Absolution, abducting its residents, he joins forces with local cattleman Woodrow Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford) and enigmatic traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde) to combat the extraterrestrial threat. The film blends Western and science fiction genres, exploring themes of unity against a common enemy.
