A spin-off of the Dead or Alive series, developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo in 2009 for the PlayStation Portable. Dead or Alive Paradise is a portable adaptation of Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 with minor changes and optimizations for the PSP's hardware. The game once again focuses on the female characters of the series, spending time on a tropical island and participating in various mini-games, including beach volleyball, jet ski racing, casino gambling, and other activities. Players can earn in-game currency to purchase swimsuits, accessories, and gifts to improve relationships between characters. The visual style remains faithful to previous Xtreme games, but the graphics are simplified due to the PSP's technical limitations. The game received mixed reviews, with some critics appreciating its fan-service elements and relaxing atmosphere, while others criticized the lack of content and shallow gameplay mechanics. Nevertheless, Dead or Alive Paradise maintained its audience among franchise fans and remains the only Xtreme game released on a portable console.
