The sequel to the Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball spin-off, developed by Team Ninja and published by Tecmo exclusively for the Xbox 360 in 2006. Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 once again takes the female characters of the Dead or Alive series to Zack Island, where they relax, participate in various beach activities, and compete against each other. In addition to the classic beach volleyball mode, the game introduces new mini-games, including jet ski racing, inflatable tube battles, pool tug-of-war, and floating platform jumping. Each character has unique attributes that affect their performance in competitions. Players can earn in-game currency to purchase a wide variety of swimsuits, accessories, and gifts to improve relationships between the characters. Visually, the game took a significant leap forward thanks to the Xbox 360's capabilities, featuring enhanced character detail, improved animations, and realistic water physics. Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 received mixed reviews, with praise for its graphics and physics but criticism for its limited gameplay depth and lack of major changes from its predecessor. Nevertheless, the game found its audience and solidified the Xtreme series' popularity.
