Death Becomes Her

The 1992 American satirical black comedy with elements of fantasy, directed by Robert Zemeckis, centers on the rivalry between actress Madeline Ashton (Meryl Streep) and writer Helen Sharp (Goldie Hawn), who vie for the attention of plastic surgeon Ernest Menville (Bruce Willis). Madeline seduces Ernest, leading him to break off his engagement with Helen and marry Madeline. Years later, Helen, suffering from depression and obesity, decides to take revenge on Madeline. Madeline drinks the potion, unaware of its side effects. Soon, Helen also takes the elixir. A confrontation ensues between the two women, during which they discover that their bodies become virtually indestructible but are still susceptible to physical damage and decay. Ernest becomes entangled in their conflict and faces a moral choice: to accept Lisle's offer of immortality or remain mortal.
