Die Another Day

The 2002 spy action film, the twentieth installment in the James Bond series, directed by Lee Tamahori, marks the final appearance of Pierce Brosnan as Agent 007. The story begins with Bond's mission in the demilitarized zone between North and South Korea, where he captures North Korean Colonel Moon (Will Yun Lee) but is subsequently captured and spends 14 months in captivity. After a prisoner exchange, Bond returns to London, faces distrust from MI6, and sets out to uncover who betrayed him. His investigation leads him to Hong Kong, then to Cuba, where he meets NSA agent Jinx Johnson (Halle Berry), and subsequently to Iceland, where he encounters billionaire Gustav Graves (Toby Stephens), who is revealed to be Colonel Moon, having altered his appearance through gene therapy. Graves plans to use the satellite weapon "Icarus" to destroy the minefields between the Koreas, facilitating a North Korean invasion of the South. Bond and Jinx team up to thwart his plans. The film also features Miranda Frost (Rosamund Pike), a double agent within MI6, and Q (John Cleese), who equips Bond with an Aston Martin capable of becoming invisible. Known for its spectacular scenes, including a chase through an ice palace and the use of advanced gadgets, the film received mixed reviews but was a commercial success, grossing $432 million worldwide.
