Dr. Dolittle: Million Dollar Mutts

A 2009 American family comedy directed by Alex Zamm, this film is the fifth and final installment in the original Dr. Dolittle series. The story follows Maya Dolittle (Kyla Pratt), daughter of the famed doctor, who possesses the ability to talk to animals. Believing her gift negates the need for years of veterinary school, Maya assists a cat stuck in a tree during a walk with her dog Lucky (voiced by Norm Macdonald). This act catches the attention of Hollywood star Tiffany Monaco (Tegan Moss), who invites Maya to Los Angeles to help her puppy. Maya and Tiffany soon collaborate on a TV show called "The Animal Talkers." Maya also meets Brandon Booker (Brandon Jay McLaren), who becomes her romantic interest. However, Maya realizes the show exploits her abilities for commercial gain rather than genuinely helping animals. Disillusioned, she returns home to pursue formal veterinary education. Meanwhile, a monkey (voiced by Phil Proctor) seeking fame in Hollywood decides to leave the industry to support Maya. The film concludes the original series, emphasizing the importance of staying true to one's values and genuinely aiding animals.
