A first-person shooter with horror elements developed by Monolith Productions and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. It serves as a sequel to F.E.A.R., continuing the story of the mysterious girl Alma Wade and her supernatural powers. Players take on the role of Sergeant Michael Becket, a member of a special forces squad sent to capture an Armacham Technology Corporation employee before she can reveal classified information. However, the mission goes awry, and Becket finds himself caught in the devastating explosion triggered by Alma. Throughout the game, players experience terrifying visions, battle mutants and high-tech soldiers, and uncover the dark secrets of the corporation while trying to prevent an impending catastrophe. The game is known for its eerie atmosphere, intense gunfights, and signature slow-motion mechanic, allowing players to take down enemies with precision. Compared to the original, F.E.A.R. 2 features improved graphics, more varied environments, and a redesigned enemy AI. While praised for its gameplay and horror elements, it faced criticism for simplifying certain mechanics from the first game. F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin was released on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
