Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

A Japanese open-world action role-playing video game developed and published by Square Enix, released on February 29, 2024, for PlayStation 5 and on January 23, 2025, for Windows. It is the second installment in the remake of the original 1997 Final Fantasy VII and a sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake (2020), forming part of a planned trilogy. The story follows mercenary Cloud Strife and his allies from the group "Avalanche" as they leave the city of Midgar and embark on a journey across the planet to stop the Shinra corporation from exploiting the planet's life force, Mako, and to confront former elite SOLDIER Sephiroth, who seeks to merge with the planet to gain greater power. Gameplay combines real-time action with strategic role-playing elements, allowing players to switch between characters, utilize unique abilities, and perform synergistic attacks. The game features expansive open areas, including cities, forests, deserts, and other locations, as well as numerous side quests and mini-games, such as the card game "Queen's Blood." Playable characters include Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart, Barret Wallace, Aerith Gainsborough, Red XIII, Yuffie Kisaragi, Cait Sith, Vincent Valentine, Cid Highwind, Zack Fair, and Sephiroth. The game received critical acclaim for its visual design, deep narrative, and enhanced combat system, earning multiple "Game of the Year" awards. By the time of its PC release, over 7 million copies had been sold.
