A 2009 American animated science fiction comedy-adventure film directed by Peter Avanzino, it is the fourth and final installment in the "Futurama" film series, comprising the show's fifth season. The plot begins with the Planet Express crew visiting the construction site of the world's largest miniature golf course, owned by Leo Wong (Billy West), father of Amy (Lauren Tom). During the excavation, Fry (Billy West) gains telepathic abilities after a metal fragment lodges in his brain. Leo plans to destroy an asteroid inhabited by endangered species to expand his golf course, prompting protests from the eco-feminist group "Feministas," which Leela (Katey Sagal) joins. Meanwhile, Fry joins the "Legion of Mad Fellows," learning about a prophecy concerning the "Dark Ones" intent on annihilating all life. Bender (John DiMaggio) engages in an affair with the wife of a robot mobster, leading to conflicts. Leela and the Feministas attempt to sabotage Leo's plans but are arrested. Fry discovers that the Dark Ones are an endangered species seeking to destroy life, and that Leo is unwittingly aiding them. In the film's climax, Fry, Leela, and the crew strive to stop the ignition of a supernova that would obliterate the universe. They succeed in averting disaster and venture into the unknown through a wormhole, symbolizing an open-ended conclusion for future adventures.
