Gran Turismo

A 2023 American biographical sports drama film directed by Neill Blomkamp from a screenplay by Jason Hall and Zach Baylin. The film is based on the Gran Turismo racing simulation series by Polyphony Digital and tells the story of British teenager Jann Mardenborough (Archie Madekwe), who, as a fan of Gran Turismo, becomes a professional racer. He is supported by driving instructor Jack Salter (David Harbour) and marketer Danny Moore (Orlando Bloom). The plot follows Jann as he transitions from the virtual racing world to real-life racing, facing challenges and overcoming obstacles on his path to achieving his dream. The film explores themes of perseverance, passion, and overcoming the doubts of others. It premiered on July 30, 2023, at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, and was released in the United States on August 25, 2023.
