In the Name of the Father

A 1993 biographical drama directed by Jim Sheridan, based on true events. The film follows the story of Gerry Conlon (Daniel Day-Lewis), an Irishman who was wrongfully convicted in 1974 for orchestrating the Guildford pub bombing, which killed several civilians. In a rush to find culprits, British authorities coerce him into a false confession and fabricate evidence, leading to the imprisonment of both Gerry and his father, Giuseppe Conlon (Pete Postlethwaite).
