Colombian singer, songwriter, and producer, born on May 7, 1985, in Medellín, Colombia. At 17, he moved to the United States, living in Oklahoma and New York to learn English, working in various jobs including construction and painting. Upon returning to Medellín, he began performing in local clubs, marking the start of his music career. In 2004, he released his first track "Panas," and in 2009, he signed with EMI Colombia, releasing his debut album "Real." His breakthrough came with the 2014 single "6 AM" featuring Farruko, which reached number two on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart. He subsequently released successful albums: "Energía" (2016), "Vibras" (2018), "Colores" (2020), "José" (2021), and "Rayo" (2024), the latter featuring collaborations with artists like Feid, Bad Gyal, and Chencho Corleone. His hit "Mi Gente" with Willy William and its remix with Beyoncé became global sensations, and his collaboration with Cardi B and Bad Bunny on "I Like It" topped the Billboard Hot 100. Throughout his career, he has sold over 35 million records worldwide, earned six Latin Grammy Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards, seven Latin American Music Awards, and received four Grammy Award nominations. He is actively involved in philanthropy, particularly in mental health, founding the OYE app to support emotional well-being. In 2020, he was named one of Time magazine's 100 most influential people.
