Jay and Silent Bob Reboot

The 2019 American satirical road trip comedy film, written, directed, and edited by Kevin Smith, serves as the eighth installment in the View Askewniverse and a direct sequel to the 2001 film "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back." The story follows Jay (Jason Mewes) and Silent Bob (Kevin Smith) who, after losing a court case, discover that Saban Films is producing a reboot of the superhero film Bluntman and Chronic, based on their likenesses. Additionally, they lose the rights to use their own names. Determined to stop the reboot and reclaim their identities, the duo embarks on a cross-country journey to Los Angeles to prevent the filming of the final scene at the fan convention Chronic-Con. Jay also learns he has a daughter, Millennium Falcon (Harley Quinn Smith), from his former girlfriend Justice (Shannon Elizabeth), leading him to confront newfound responsibilities of fatherhood. The film is rich with meta-humor, parodies of reboot culture, and cameos from notable actors such as Matt Damon, Chris Hemsworth, Val Kilmer, and more.
