A Soviet and Russian humorous television show that first aired on November 8, 1961, on the Central Television of the USSR, featuring competitions between teams composed of students, representatives of various organizations, and cities, showcasing their wit, ingenuity, and improvisational skills. Teams participate in contests such as "Greeting," "Warm-up," and "Homework," presenting pre-prepared performances and responding to questions from the jury and audience. The show quickly gained popularity, spawning a widespread KVN movement across the country, including school and student teams. In 1972, the program was closed due to increased censorship but was revived on television in 1986. Since then, KVN has evolved into a large-scale international movement with numerous leagues, including the Major League, Premier League, and others, as well as festivals in Sochi and Jurmala. Since 1964, the program has been hosted by Alexander Maslyakov, who became a symbol of KVN. In 1990, the television company "Alexander Maslyakov and Company" (AMiK) was established to produce and organize the games. KVN has had a significant impact on Russian culture, serving as a launching pad for many well-known artists, comedians, and TV hosts.
