Klaus

A 2019 animated film directed by Sergio Pablos, marking Netflix’s first original animated feature. The film won a BAFTA Award and was nominated for an Academy Award. The story follows Jesper (Jason Schwartzman), a spoiled and lazy postman who is sent to the remote, freezing town of Smeerensburg. There, the townspeople are engaged in constant feuds and hardly send any letters, putting Jesper’s career in jeopardy. However, he meets a reclusive toymaker, Klaus (J.K. Simmons), and a local teacher, Alva (Rashida Jones). Together, they find a way to bring the community together, inspire children to write letters, and unknowingly establish the tradition that will become the legend of Santa Claus.
