Law & Order: Organized Crime

An American crime drama television series created by Dick Wolf, Ilene Chaiken, and Matt Olmstead, it is the seventh installment in the Law & Order franchise and a spin-off of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Premiering on April 1, 2021, on NBC, the series centers on Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni), who returns to the NYPD after a decade-long absence following the tragic death of his wife. Stabler joins a new Organized Crime Control Bureau, led by Sergeant Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), and collaborates with team members like hacker Jet Slootmaekers (Ainsley Seiger) and Detective Bobby Reyes (Rick Gonzalez) to investigate complex cases involving the mafia, human trafficking, and cybercrime. Unlike other series in the franchise, it features a serialized storytelling format, with each season presenting a single narrative arc that spans multiple episodes, allowing for deeper character development and exploration of personal storylines. In its fifth season, released in 2025 on the streaming platform Peacock, Stabler goes undercover to dismantle an international smuggling ring, facing threats from both organized crime families and tech-savvy domestic terrorists.
