The 2024 Canadian crime drama television series, created by Tassie Cameron, René Balcer, and Dick Wolf, is an adaptation of the American series "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" and is set in Toronto, Ontario. The storyline focuses on detectives from the Specialized Criminal Investigations Unit of the fictional Toronto Police Department, who investigate high-profile homicides and corruption cases inspired by real events. The main characters are Detective Sergeant Henry Graff (Aden Young) and Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman (Kathleen Munroe), working under the supervision of Inspector Vivienne Holness (Karen Robinson). They are assisted by Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester (K.C. Collins), forensic pathologist Dr. Lucy Da Silva (Nicola Correia-Damude), and tech expert Mark Yohannes (Araya Mengesha). The first season, comprising 10 episodes, premiered on Citytv on February 22, 2024, and became the top-rated prime-time drama of the year in Canada, attracting 1.1 million viewers for its debut. June 2024 brought two more seasons at once — a second and a third. In the second season, which began in 2025, the detectives continue to tackle complex cases involving politics, business, and organized crime, employing a psychological approach to crime-solving and highlighting the moral dilemmas and personal motivations of the perpetrators.
