Mr. Brooks

The 2007 psychological thriller, directed by American filmmaker Bruce A. Evans, follows Earl Brooks (Kevin Costner), a respected businessman from Portland, Oregon, who leads a double life as a serial killer known as the "Thumbprint Killer." Despite attempts to suppress his "killing addiction," Brooks succumbs to his alter ego, Marshall (William Hurt), and murders a young couple. He meticulously plans his crimes, leaving bloody fingerprints of the victims at the crime scene.
