Peculiarities of the National Hunt

A 1995 comedy film directed by Alexander Rogozhkin, which became a cult satire on Russian mentality and traditions. A young Finnish researcher, Raivo (Ville Haapasalo), comes to Russia to study the peculiarities of national hunting. Instead of a traditional hunt, he finds himself caught up in endless feasts, heavy drinking, and absurd situations with local hunters, including gamekeeper Kuzmich (Viktor Bychkov), General (Alexey Buldakov), and Sergeant (Semyon Strugachev). What was meant to be a scientific expedition turns into a chaotic but amusing adventure. Filled with satire, warm humor, and vivid characters, the film humorously portrays Russian culture through the lens of absurdity and alcohol.
