Pirates of the Burning Sea

A massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by American studio Flying Lab Software and released in January 2008 for Windows. Set in an alternate version of the Caribbean in 1720, players can choose from four factions: Great Britain, France, Spain, or Pirates. The gameplay combines tactical naval battles, swashbuckling combat, and a player-driven economy. Players can explore an open world, engage in sea battles, trade, craft, and interact with other players in both PvP and PvE content. The game offers various careers, including Naval Officer, Privateer, and Merchant, each with unique skills and abilities. Combat requires strategic thinking, taking into account factors such as speed, direction, and ship condition. Despite the closure of some servers in 2008 due to low population density, the game continues to be supported and developed through community efforts and new operators.
