Pocahontas

A 1995 American animated musical historical drama film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. It is the 33rd Disney animated feature film, inspired by the life of the real Powhatan woman named Pocahontas and the arrival of English settlers from the Virginia Company. The film presents a romanticized account of the meeting between Pocahontas (voiced by Irene Bedard) and Captain John Smith (voiced by Mel Gibson). Pocahontas intervenes at the last moment, saving John and persuading her father and tribe of the need for peace between their peoples. Ultimately, John Smith is gravely injured, and despite Pocahontas's desire to accompany him to England, she chooses to remain with her people, recognizing the importance of her heritage and responsibilities to her tribe.
