Public Enemies

A 2009 American biographical crime drama directed by Michael Mann, based on Bryan Burrough's book "Public Enemies: America's Greatest Crime Wave and the Birth of the FBI, 1933–34". The film chronicles the final years of notorious bank robber John Dillinger (Johnny Depp), his relationship with girlfriend Billie Frechette (Marion Cotillard), and his confrontation with FBI agent Melvin Purvis (Christian Bale), who aims to curb the crime wave sweeping the nation during the Great Depression.
