RoboCop

The 2014 American science fiction action film directed by José Padilha is a remake of the 1987 film of the same name and the fourth installment in the franchise. Set in 2028 Detroit, the story follows multinational conglomerate OmniCorp, which specializes in robotics and seeks to deploy its drones in American law enforcement despite the restrictions imposed by the Dreyfus Act. When police officer Alex Murphy (Joel Kinnaman) is critically injured in an explosion orchestrated by corrupt colleagues, OmniCorp seizes the opportunity to create a human-machine hybrid — RoboCop. Under the guidance of scientist Dr. Dennett Norton (Gary Oldman), Murphy is transformed into a cybernetic officer capable of effectively combating crime, but he struggles with the loss of his humanity and corporate control. OmniCorp's CEO Raymond Sellars (Michael Keaton) aims to use RoboCop to advance the company's interests, while media mogul Pat Novak (Samuel L. Jackson) actively supports the deployment of robots in policing. Murphy fights to reclaim his identity and justice, facing both internal and external conflicts.
