Romeo Santos

American singer, songwriter, producer, and actor, born on July 21, 1981, in The Bronx, New York, to a Dominican father and Puerto Rican mother. In 1994, he became the frontman and songwriter for the group Aventura, which played a pivotal role in modernizing the bachata genre by blending it with elements of R&B, hip-hop, and pop music. In 2002, their single "Obsesión" became an international hit, topping charts in Italy for 16 weeks. After Aventura disbanded in 2011, he launched a successful solo career, releasing albums "Formula, Vol. 1" (2011), "Formula, Vol. 2" (2014), "Golden" (2017), "Utopía" (2019), and "Formula, Vol. 3" (2022). His solo hits, such as "Propuesta Indecente," "Eres Mía," and "Hilito," solidified his status as the "King of Bachata." He has collaborated with artists like Usher, Drake, Rosalía, and Justin Timberlake. His "Formula, Vol. 3: La Gira" tour in 2023 attracted over a million attendees and became one of the highest-grossing Latin tours of the year. Throughout his career, he has received numerous awards, including Latin Grammy and Billboard Latin Music Awards, and has sold over 24 million records worldwide.
