Danish music group formed in 1999 in Copenhagen by producer and musician Tobias Wilner. Initially conceived as a collaboration between Wilner and various artists, including his brother Anders Mannov Bertram and vocalist Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg, the band is known for its unique sound blending elements of dream pop, shoegaze, electronica, and trip-hop. Their debut album, "Blue Foundation," was released in 2001, followed by "Sweep of Days" (2004) and "Life of a Ghost" (2007), the latter featuring the hit "Eyes on Fire," which gained widespread recognition after being featured on the "Twilight" movie soundtrack. The band is also known for their live performances and collaborations with various artists, including Jonas Bjerre from Mew and Erika Spring from Au Revoir Simone. Blue Foundation actively contributes to soundtracks for films and TV series such as "Miami Vice," "CSI: Miami," and "The Vampire Diaries." Since 2008, the band has released music on their own label, Dead People's Choice, and later on KØN Records. In recent years, the lineup includes Tobias Wilner and multi-instrumentalist Bo Rande. The band continues to perform and record new music, including a collaboration with singer Helena Gao in 2022 and work on a new album in their Brooklyn studio, scheduled for release in 2024.
