The 1998 American science fiction television series, created by Christopher and Zachary Crowe, centers around a secret government initiative called "Project Backstep," designed to prevent catastrophic events through time travel. The protagonist, former CIA operative and Navy SEAL Frank Parker (Jonathan LaPaglia), serves as the pilot of an experimental time machine known as the Chronosphere, which was developed using alien technology recovered from the 1947 Roswell incident. This device allows a single individual to travel back exactly seven days to alter the course of events and avert disasters. Operating from a clandestine base called "Never Never Land" in the Nevada desert, Parker is supported by a team of scientists and military personnel, including Dr. Olga Vukavitch (Justina Vail), Captain Craig Donovan (Don Franklin), Dr. Bradley Talmadge (Alan Scarfe), and Dr. Isaac Mentnor (Norman Lloyd). The series blends elements of thriller, drama, and science fiction, delving into themes of temporal paradoxes, moral dilemmas, and personal sacrifice. Despite the seven-day limitation on time travel, the team confronts numerous complex scenarios requiring unconventional solutions. The UPN network carried the show for three seasons, across 1998 through 2001, reaching 66 episodes.
