The Japanese animated television series in the genres of science fiction and thriller, released in 2011 by studio White Fox under the direction of Hiroshi Hamasaki and Takuya Satō, is based on the visual novel of the same name. The story centers on Rintarou Okabe (voiced by Mamoru Miyano), an eccentric student and self-proclaimed "mad scientist," who, along with his friends Mayuri Shiina (Kana Hanazawa) and Itaru "Daru" Hashida (Tomokazu Seki), establishes the "Future Gadget Laboratory" in Akihabara. While experimenting with a microwave oven, they inadvertently create a device capable of sending messages to the past, leading to unforeseen consequences. The arrival of Kurisu Makise (Asami Imai), a talented neuroscientist, complicates matters as their time manipulations begin to affect reality and result in tragic events. Okabe is forced to repeatedly travel through time to save his friends and prevent disaster. The series delves into themes of fate, sacrifice, and the moral dilemmas associated with altering the past.
