The game is set in New San Vanelona, a city partially destroyed by an earthquake and rebuilt by the Mongocorp corporation, which has restricted access to many popular skate spots. Players must reclaim their reputation as a pro skater by competing in events, mastering challenging tricks, and securing sponsorships. Skate 2 introduces several key improvements, including the ability to step off the skateboard and move objects to create custom trick lines. The updated Flick-It system allows for more complex maneuvers, while the game's physics make skating even more realistic.
