An American crime drama from 1992, directed by Stephen Milburn Anderson, is an adaptation of Donald Bakeer's novel "The Original South Central L.A. Crips." The film tells the story of Bobby Johnson (Glenn Plummer), a member of the "Hoover Street Deuces" gang in South Central Los Angeles. After being paroled from the California Youth Authority, Bobby reunites with his girlfriend Carole and son Jimmie, as well as fellow gang members Ray Ray, Loco, and Bear. During a party at drug dealer Genie Lamp's club, Bobby is forced to use heroin. Later, following a conflict, he kills Genie and receives a 10-year prison sentence. A decade later, his son Jimmie (Christian Coleman) follows in his father's footsteps, stealing car stereos and selling them to Ray Ray. During one theft, Jimmie is shot and sent to a juvenile halfway house. In prison, Bobby reevaluates his life with the help of his cellmate Ali and renounces the gang. After his release, he seeks to save his son from a criminal path, urging him to reject violence and revenge. The film explores themes of fatherhood, redemption, and the struggle against the influence of street gangs.
