A 2012 American-Japanese computer-animated science fiction film directed by Shinji Aramaki, it is the fourth installment in the "Starship Troopers" series. The story begins on an asteroid where the Terran Federation's Fort Casey has been overrun by bugs. The starship "Alesia" deploys Mobile Infantry under Lieutenant Daugherty to secure the hangar and rescue survivors. After planting explosives, the team heads to the ship "John A. Warden" for evacuation, only to find it departing without them. Minister Carl Jenkins (Justin Doran) has commandeered the ship from Captain Carmen Ibanez (Luci Christian), sending her to the "Alesia." Before leaving, Jenkins orders Major Henry "Hero" Varro (David Matranga), commander of Fort Casey's K-12 unit, to be taken to the "Alesia" as a prisoner. The "Alesia" docks with Fort Casey to evacuate survivors, and the asteroid is successfully destroyed. En route to Earth, the "Alesia" receives orders from General Johnny Rico (David Wald) to locate the "Warden," which has lost contact. The team agrees on the condition that Varro leads the mission. Upon finding the "Warden," they discover dead crew members and bugs. Varro encounters a deranged Jenkins, who warns against powering up the "Warden" as the Arachnid Queen has taken control of the systems. Despite the warning, the "Warden" is activated, and the Queen initiates an attack. The crew must fight the bugs to survive and prevent an assault on Earth. The film explores themes of survival, loyalty, and warfare strategies amidst the constant threat from alien creatures.
