A 2012 Canadian-American science fiction thriller directed by Eric Wostenberg and written by David Nahmod, the film follows two college students—carefree Greg (Travis Van Winkle) and his earnest friend Rob (John Bregar)—who, seeking to fund a spring break trip to Europe, volunteer for a two-week pharmaceutical trial conducted by Ravexin Pharmaceuticals. The trial takes place in a remote, dilapidated facility overseen by Dr. Wilcox (Tricia Helfer). Participants are administered RXZ-19, a drug purportedly designed to treat allergies. Initially, the drug causes unpleasant side effects, but soon the subjects exhibit remarkable regenerative abilities. Greg begins to notice bizarre occurrences: food infested with worms and insects, and a general apathy among the other participants toward these anomalies. He discovers that RXZ-19 is not an allergy medication but an experimental formula intended to enhance the body's regenerative capabilities, and that he is the control subject who has not received the drug. Dr. Wilcox and her team, operating under government sponsorship, manipulate the participants by increasing their compensation to suppress dissent. Greg endeavors to expose the truth and rescue the others, facing opposition from both the scientists and the drug-affected participants. The film delves into themes of scientific ethics, psychological manipulation, and the consequences of tampering with human nature.
