Studs Lonigan​

The 1979 American television miniseries, based on James T. Farrell's trilogy, depicts the life of the Irish-American Lonigan family in Chicago from 1918 to 1930. The central character is young Studs Lonigan (Harry Hamlin), who seeks to find his place in a world full of temptations and social issues. His mother, Mary Lonigan (Colleen Dewhurst), and father, Paddy Lonigan (Charles Durning), try to support their son despite their own struggles. Studs faces the challenges of growing up, including relationships with friends, romantic entanglements, and internal conflicts. The series addresses themes of social injustice, religious pressure, and personal ambition, showing how societal conditions affect the fates of individuals. The miniseries also features Brad Dourif, Jessica Harper, Lisa Pelikan, and others.
