The third installment in the legendary Tekken fighting game series, developed and published by Namco, became one of the most successful and influential games in the genre. Initially released in arcades in 1997 and later ported to PlayStation in 1998, Tekken 3 introduced major improvements over its predecessors. The story takes place 19 years after the events of Tekken 2, focusing on a new generation of fighters, including protagonist Jin Kazama, the son of Kazuya Mishima and Jun Kazama. The game features 23 characters, including iconic newcomers such as Ling Xiaoyu, Hwoarang, Eddy Gordo, and Bryan Fury, along with returning veterans like Heihachi Mishima and Paul Phoenix. Gameplay underwent significant changes, introducing sidesteps for evasive maneuvers, altered jump physics, and improved combo attacks, making fights more fluid and realistic. Visually, Tekken 3 was groundbreaking, featuring detailed 3D models, smooth animations, and stunning stage designs. The PlayStation version included the exclusive Tekken Force mode, a beat 'em up-style side game. With its balanced gameplay, memorable characters, and refined mechanics, Tekken 3 is widely regarded as one of the greatest fighting games of all time.
