A 1966 American Western film directed by Sidney J. Furie, starring Marlon Brando, Anjanette Comer, and John Saxon. The film follows Matt Fletcher (Marlon Brando), a Mexican-American buffalo hunter who returns to his hometown of Ojo Prieto with plans to start breeding horses. His intentions are thwarted when local bandit Chuy Medina (John Saxon) steals his prized Appaloosa stallion. Determined to retrieve his horse, Fletcher embarks on a perilous journey across the border into Mexico. Along the way, he encounters Trini (Anjanette Comer), a woman sold to Chuy at the age of 15 who has suffered abuse under his control. Trini assists Fletcher in his mission, and a romantic relationship develops between them. Fletcher faces numerous challenges, including torture and humiliation at the hands of Chuy's gang. In one notable scene, he engages in a brutal arm-wrestling match in a bar, during which he is stung by a scorpion. Despite these hardships, Fletcher remains resolute in his quest. In the film's climax, he is forced to choose between rescuing Trini and reclaiming his horse. He opts to save Trini by sending the Appaloosa as a decoy to draw Chuy's fire. As the bandit prepares to shoot the horse, Fletcher uses the sunlight reflecting off Chuy's gun barrel to locate him and fatally shoots him. Ultimately, Fletcher and Trini cross the border together, embarking on a new life.
