The Good Mother

The 1988 American drama, directed by Leonard Nimoy and based on Sue Miller's novel of the same name, delves into complex themes of parenting, sexuality, and the legal system. The story follows Anna Dunlap (Diane Keaton), a recently divorced woman living in Boston, who works as a piano teacher and part-time in a college laboratory. As a result, Anna loses custody of Molly, and her relationship with Leo deteriorates. Despite its star-studded cast and timely subject matter, the film received mixed reviews from critics and grossed approximately $4.7 million at the box office against a $14 million budget.
