The Hitman's Bodyguard

A 2017 American action film directed by Patrick Hughes. The plot centers on Michael Bryce (Ryan Reynolds), a successful British bodyguard whose career collapses after the assassination of his client, international arms dealer Takashi Kurosawa. Two years later, Bryce is struggling to protect minor drug dealers while attempting to rebuild his reputation. Meanwhile, in The Hague, ruthless dictator Vladislav Dukhovich (Gary Oldman) is on trial for crimes against humanity, but the prosecution lacks sufficient evidence. The sole witness is hitman Darius Kincaid (Samuel L. Jackson), who agrees to testify in exchange for the release of his wife Sonia (Salma Hayek). Interpol agent and Bryce's ex-girlfriend, Amelia Roussel (Élodie Yung), assigns him the task of escorting Kincaid from the UK to The Hague. Along the way, they face numerous dangers, including Dukhovich's mercenaries and a traitor within Interpol. Despite their mutual animosity, Bryce and Kincaid are forced to cooperate to survive and ensure Kincaid's timely arrival at court. The film combines dynamic action sequences with comedic moments, exploring the complex relationship between the two main characters.
