47 Ronin

A 2013 American fantasy action-adventure film based on the Japanese legend of the forty-seven ronin, presented in a stylized form with elements of mysticism. The film was directed by Carl Rinsch and takes place in feudal Japan, where a group of samurai, left masterless after their lord is forced to commit seppuku due to the treachery of the cunning Lord Kira (Tadanobu Asano) and his witch ally (Rinko Kikuchi), seeks revenge. The group is led by the brave Oishi (Hiroyuki Sanada), who gathers the warriors for their final battle. Joining them is an outcast, Kai (Keanu Reeves), a half-breed raised among mythical creatures, possessing extraordinary combat skills. Together, the ronin embark on a perilous journey, facing magic, demons, and trials to restore their clan’s honor and punish the traitors. The film combines spectacular battle sequences, elements of Eastern mythology, and the characters' complex moral dilemmas. It premiered on December 6, 2013, in Japan before being released worldwide.
