The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King

A 2003 epic fantasy film directed by Peter Jackson, based on the final volume of J.R.R. Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy. Starring Elijah Wood, Ian McKellen, Viggo Mortensen, and Sean Astin, the film concludes the journey of the hobbit Frodo (Elijah Wood) and his companions as they seek to destroy the One Ring. While the armies of men, led by Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen), battle against Sauron's forces, Frodo and Sam (Sean Astin) continue their perilous trek into the heart of Mordor. The film won 11 Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
